FREE SCREENING of short films and clips from the upcoming PBS series FRAMELINES.

We will be previewing several segments and whole short films from the filmmakers of Ohio from the first 6 episodes of FRAMELINES, coming soon to PBS (WOSU premiere in April).

Admission is free, but we kindly ask for any donations (tax deductible!) to support the ongoing series.

PBS in Toledo will start airing FRAMELINES in 2011! The newest re-edit of the show with notes from WOSU is complete and being delivered today.

(NOTE: The original article was written just before the release of “The Village” and I don’t talk about some of the later and not so great Shyamalan movies.)

My advice to microbudget filmmakers is take a look at the films of M. Night Shyamalan. These films could be made for almost no money if you take out the name stars and do a little trimming in the scope of some scenes. Night's filmmaking is very basic with little or no "showy" shots. Hell, in "Unbreakable" most scenes play in one shot.
